Information about Seminar:
For mining and natural resources companies planning to raise funds, the ideal platform would be the Hong Kong securities market – one of the most active and liquid markets in the world.
In 2009, US$31 billion was raised through new listings in Hong Kong which was the top global IPO fund raising centre for the year. In Hong Kong, there is no control over capital movements, and no tax on capital gain or dividend. In recent years, an increasing number of overseas mining & natural resources companies have been drawn to the Hong Kong market. To further facilities the increasing interests, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has recently taken further steps to revise its rules to facilitate overseas mining and exploration companies to seek for new listing or dual listing for capital raising.
At the Seminar, industry experts and senior intermediary firm representatives had shared with the participants market insights on ways to leverage the Hong Kong securities market as their fund raising platform in Asia. The special guest speakers were Professor K.C. Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and Treasury, the Government of Hong Kong SAR, and Mr. Ronald Arculli, Chairman of HKEx. |
