Job Title: Corporate Finance Assistant Manager
Length of Position: Permanent full-time
Job Description:
We have an opening for a Assistant Manager, Corporate Finance in our Vancouver office. The
successful candidate will be a highly motivated, accomplished and success oriented individual who
has a keen interest in developing their skills and experiences for a career in the investment banking
industry. The candidate will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical and administration
support to the management within the investment banking group, in executing the group’s mandate
to offer a full range of merger & acquisition, equity & debt financings, initial public offerings and financial advisory services to private and public companies. Typically, the candidate is assigned to a variety of transactions.
Major Activities / Accountabilities:
- Conducting due diligence and executing all facets of the investment banking projects.
- Preparing and reviewing written documentation: agreements, proposals, offering and corporate documents, news releases, etc.
- Preparing financial statements, MD&A, budgets and various regulatory documents for public companies.
- Ensuring the accounting platform supports the production of timely, accurate and complete information for management and financial reporting purposes.
- Interfacing with professionals (lawyers, accounts, auditors, etc) in executing various projects.
- Maintaining current knowledge of securities rules and regulations, stock exchange policies and accounting policies.
- Assisting in the IFRS transition.
- Supervising junior staff.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline.
- Professional designation such as CA, CFA, CGA, CMA, CPA or other recognized programs is an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is an asset, although not a requirement.
- Sound knowledge of accounting, finance and marketing acquired through education and experience, with hands-on accounting/bookkeeping experience. IFRS knowledge is an asset.
- Analytical and quantitative skills (i.e. financial and data analysis).
- Technical/computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work within a demanding and dynamic team environment.
- Attention to details and time management skills.
